August Wrap Up

My motivation and energy have been extremely low this month, so my reading, writing, and editing have taken a big nose dive. I am thankful I had a few short stories on my Kindle; it is just a shame they were not for me.

I have paused my reading of ACOWAR. I am loving every single page, especially Az, but my mood-reading ways have made me switch gears for the time being. I just did not want to force myself to finish the rest as it would no longer be enjoyable, so instead I am reading The Hunger Games. I am loving it. I love the films anyway and watch them nearly every year, so I am not surprised, but I have teared up so many times already!

I hope I get to read more this month, and I hope you are loving the books that have you gripped.

What is your favourite season? Mine is autumn, and not just because I was born in it. I just love all things autumnal and spooky. Autumn has already started for me; the pumpkin lights are on, the pumpkin spice lattes have been flowing, and I am watching Gilmore Girls as I type this.

July Wrap Up

The flu has been coming for me hard this week, so I never got around to finishing A Court of Wings and Ruin, but I think that is a good thing because now I do not have to choose between that and A Court of Mist and Fury for my favourite book of the month. I am starting to sound like a parrot, but I am absolutely loving the A Court of Thorns and Roses series; every book so far is better than the last! I am still very much in love with Rhysand, but the way the third book is going, I think Azriel may be joining the book-boyfriend ranks.

I would be remiss not to mention how thrilled I was to have my first opportunity to ARC read for Susan Golden this month. The Lord of Mist and Mead still has a pre-order sale on Amazon (until 12th September 2023). Check out my review or Susan Golden’s page if you love Fae Romantasy.

What is the weather like where you are today? It is wonderfully overcast and rainy where I am, which is perfect weather for resting all day in bed.

June Wrap Up

June has had me firmly seated at what I have been calling ‘Procrastination Station’. With bouts of feeling ill, I have struggled with motivation. I have been procrastinating my writing by reading and then procrastinating my reading by writing, making minimal headway with either. I managed to think of a new book, WIP number four, instead of finishing the last four chapters of the one I need to finish before the end of July. I am hoping that by giving myself a deadline, I might finish it.

My favourite book of the month was A Court of Thorns and Roses, and not just because it was the only book I finished this month. It is currently my favourite book of the year, but I have a feeling A Court of Mist and Fury is quickly coming for that title. I love Feyre, and I am invested in her! I am still reading A Court of Mist and Fury and loving every second of it. I do not want it to end, but I am also really looking forward to what could be coming next in this series. I do not often pick a favourite book boyfriend; there are many, and I love them all. But Rhysand has changed that rule and has not only created a hierarchy but is now crowned King.

Do you have a favourite book boyfriend? Or what has been your favourite book of the year so far?
