REVIEW: A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

Rating: 5 out of 5.

A Court of Mist and Fury is a High Fantasy Romance Novel by Sarah J. Maas, the second in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. Following the trials Under the Mountain and the freedom from Amarantha that Feyre has brought to Prythian, she struggles to cope with the trauma. Feyre is struggling to find where she now belongs in this body, in this new world, and in her relationships. She is struggling to see if she belongs. And as if this were not enough to handle, she also has that little sticky bargain with the High Lord of the Night Court himself to contend with, and of course, war is looming. A war that will affect everyone she holds dear. Was the price she paid for saving Tamlin and all of Prythian worth the pain? Or was it only the first line crossed in many, many more to come?

June Wrap Up

June has had me firmly seated at what I have been calling ‘Procrastination Station’. With bouts of feeling ill, I have struggled with motivation. I have been procrastinating my writing by reading and then procrastinating my reading by writing, making minimal headway with either. I managed to think of a new book, WIP number four, instead of finishing the last four chapters of the one I need to finish before the end of July. I am hoping that by giving myself a deadline, I might finish it.

My favourite book of the month was A Court of Thorns and Roses, and not just because it was the only book I finished this month. It is currently my favourite book of the year, but I have a feeling A Court of Mist and Fury is quickly coming for that title. I love Feyre, and I am invested in her! I am still reading A Court of Mist and Fury and loving every second of it. I do not want it to end, but I am also really looking forward to what could be coming next in this series. I do not often pick a favourite book boyfriend; there are many, and I love them all. But Rhysand has changed that rule and has not only created a hierarchy but is now crowned King.

Do you have a favourite book boyfriend? Or what has been your favourite book of the year so far?

REVIEW: A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

Rating: 5 out of 5.

A Court of Thorns and Roses is a High Fantasy Novel by Sarah J. Maas and the first book in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. Feyre is only nineteen, and yet her family’s lives rest on her shoulders. Her world is bleak and cold, and everything is a fight to survive. Until one choice, one arrow changes everything, an action to feed the ones she has sworn to protect means she is ripped from the world she has known, a world where she has fought tooth and nail to survive and dropped into a world that seems anything but hard—peaceful, perhaps. Finding her footing, finding where she stands now, will be challenging, but with creatures, she knows only tales about surrounding her and secrets, so many secrets, being kept from her, this colourful land may be harder than the one she came from. What would you do for love? Just how far would you go to protect the ones you love? Which lines would you cross?
